Weather and safety

This is an informational community weather service, not an emergency-warning service. On-site sensors, cameras, generated reports, forecasts, radar, air-quality readings, lightning information, and historical products can be delayed, incomplete, or wrong. Use official National Weather Service alerts and instructions from public authorities for safety decisions.

Personal-use API

The JSON API is offered for one person’s reasonable use in their own private applications. It is not licensed as a data source for another public website, public dashboard, widget, hosted service, feed, mirror, dataset, or commercial product.

You may not republish, proxy, syndicate, resell, bulk-download, scrape, or use the API to serve KTML data to third parties. You may not evade rate limits, browser challenges, access controls, or other safeguards. For a public or shared use, obtain written permission first at matt.craig@ktml.space.

Cameras, archive, and media

You may view and personally download generated timelapse media where the site provides a download control. Canonical original camera frames remain private and are not offered for direct download. KTML retains rights in its camera imagery, site design, original text, software presentation, and compiled archive except where a separate license says otherwise.

Third-party information

NWS, NOAA, AirNow, Ambient Weather, Windy, and linked services retain responsibility for their own information, systems, marks, and terms. Government information is identified by source and does not imply endorsement of KTML. Use of the embedded Windy map is also subject to Windy’s terms.

Acceptable use

Do not disrupt the service; probe private systems; introduce malicious traffic; attempt unauthorized access; interfere with other visitors; remove source notices; or use the cameras, archive, or API unlawfully. KTML may rate-limit, challenge, suspend, or block access to protect the service or enforce these terms.

Availability and liability

The service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without a promise that it will be uninterrupted, complete, accurate, or suitable for a particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, KTML is not liable for losses arising from reliance on weather information, unavailable service, third-party content, or misuse of the site.

Changes and governing law

KTML may change or discontinue features and may update these terms by posting a new effective date. These terms are governed by Oregon law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Questions or permission requests may be sent to matt.craig@ktml.space.
