Information handled

• Ordinary request data: the hosting, reverse-proxy, security, and application systems may process an IP address, request time, requested path, browser user-agent, response status, and security or rate-limit decision.
• Security state: Anubis may store an essential browser challenge cookie for protected history and generated media. Authelia stores essential authentication state only for authorized administrators.
• Weather records: station readings, public weather reports, and sky-camera frames describe weather at the site; they are not collected to identify visitors.
• Messages: if you contact KTML, the information you send is used to answer and retain the correspondence as reasonably necessary.

Why it is used

Request information is used to deliver the site, operate rate limits, detect abuse, protect the archive and administration area, troubleshoot failures, and maintain reliable service. KTML does not use it to build advertising profiles.

Service providers and embedded content

Infrastructure providers may process limited request information while hosting, routing, or securing the service. The Windy map is embedded from Windy and can receive normal browser request information when it loads. NWS radar images are requested from weather.gov. AirNow and Ambient data are retrieved by the KTML server, so their credentials are never sent to your browser.

Third-party services apply their own privacy terms. KTML may also disclose limited information when legally required or when reasonably necessary to protect the service, users, or the public.

Retention and choices

Operational logs and security records are kept only as long as reasonably needed for reliability, abuse prevention, backups, and legal obligations. Permanent historical weather and camera records are retained as the scientific archive and are not visitor profiles.

You can block third-party content or clear essential cookies in your browser, although protected archive or administrator features may then stop working. You may ask about access, correction, or deletion of personal information associated with you; KTML may need to verify the request and may retain information where required or reasonably necessary.

Children, changes, and contact

The service is a general-audience weather resource and is not designed to collect personal information from children. This policy may change as the service or applicable requirements change; the effective date above will be updated.
